Do you see what I see?

It is a bee hiding in a Morning Glor-ee.   Sorry, I could not resist - Morning glory!

Have you ever......

Have you ever reached a point in your life where you do not know what is next?   Have you ever wondered why you were put here on this phenomenal planet, and what you were meant to do?  Have you ever felt that you were meant to accomplish so much more; but yet what?  Personally, I want what "it" is to slap me in the face and say - "hey, this is what you are supposed to be doing!"

Have you ever wondered - "what is the next step?"

Have you ever wondered how to get at the root of these feelings, even though they are raw and exposed for others to see?

Have you ever found yourself searching for that elusive "ray of light" to guide you?

Yes my friend, I have been there, and find myself there yet again.

However, I keep the faith and know that all will be revealed in due time.  I continually take time out and pray.  I have peace in knowing that eventually everything falls into place!

Midweek Blues - Swamp Daisy

There is a very large bush of swamp daisies blooming next door and I am loving catching the first blooms!  Since I did not have a blue subject for midweek blues - I decided the vivid blue sky in the background would do just fine!
Be sure to find more midweek blues over at The Dusty Cellar.

Happy Wednesday!

Critter on a Rose...

I found this grasshopper (?) lounging amongst the rose petals.   He was not disturbed my intrusive picture taking at all.

SOOC Sunday - Discarded

This petunia was on the side of the road on top of a pile of grass clippings.   It had been discarded, but looked like it still had a little bit of life left to it.

Check out other SOOC (straight out of the camera) shots over at. Murrieta365.

Wishing all of you a blessed Sunday!

A Morning Drive...

Yesterday morning I decided to take a short drive before work to see what I could find to photograph.  I drove out to a rural area and caught the sun coming up over a pasture.

It was a little foggy, but the shot turned out pretty well.

A group of geese in a rolling field.

And this interesting creation made out of hay bales.  I am guessing it is a lion but am not really sure.  It was a fun find!

Have a great Thursday!

A shell....

I came across this cicada shell in our neighbor's yard underneath a dogwood tree.

And I thought it made a pretty cool subject to photograph.

It almost looked real from a distance.

Have a great Tuesday!!

Butterfly Silhouette

While there are many things "wrong" with this photo; the lighting was not right, the focus is off and a bit blurry, I still am drawn to it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Horseplay

I found this beauty not far from our neighborhood.   He was not very interested in me - next time I will take him a treat and perhaps he will be a little more cooperative.

I think horses are absolutely beautiful - either in color or black and white!

I loved his fuzzy ears!

And his pretty mane flowing down his face.

Again, the fuzzy ears!

And he was really bored....

Happy Friday!

Dragonfly in Black and White

I am experimenting with black and white - tell me what you think!

I love to watch dragonflies sun themselves.

And, I really appreciate it when they sit still and pose for me.

This is my favorite pose!

Have a great Thursday!

Confession Time....

I am afraid of frogs.   Laugh if you want, but I am truly scared of frogs! I mean literally, scared out of my mind of frogs!!  Snakes rank only one bar higher on my fear-factor scale.

In blogo-sphere world, I openly admitted this fear in a comment (mine was #5) at Lisa's site after a particular photograph was posted.  And by the way, all of her photos are beautiful and wonderful!

You may be wondering why in the world would anyone be afraid of frogs?  Well, let me tell you why.  It is because when we were kids, my brother and his band of gangsters used to chase me around the yard at dusk and throw toad frogs at me.  If they were lucky enough to catch me, they would actually stuff them down my shirt.  Can you imagine??   AUGH - rotten boys!!   Gotta love growing up in the country!

Last night my husband called me outside and said to bring my camera.   The last time this happened it was a good thing.  However, something about the tone of his voice made me suspicious.  He can be a prankster at times, and seems to enjoy this crazy fear of mine.

So, I grabbed my camera and oh yeah, there it was.  A big, fat tree frog sitting on our chimney!

Tree frogs don't quite make me want to run away and scream like a crazy-person the way toads do.  He really is kind of cute...

Just look at those suction-cupped feet - imagining them stuck to my skin really made me cringe!!

I swear, he was looking directly at me - ready to jump onto my camera, or worse onto my head....YIKES!

And then he decided that his job was done - enough posing.   He was leaving and going away - far away.

Or so I thought!

This morning my husband called up to me in a very cheery voice and said "come here quick."  The warning bells were ringing loudly in my head.  It was that danged tone of voice again...

I peered into the bathroom and there he was again!!  The big fat green tree frog was clinging to the inside of our toilet bowl!!  He was happily hanging out in our toilet!  Sorry, no pics this time - I wanted him GONE!  But don't worry - he did not get flushed, just taken outside by my husband while I went squealing back up the stairs!

Afterwards, my only thought was this:  what if I had sat on the toilet without seeing him, and it had jumped onto my leg, or some other body part - CAN YOU IMAGINE??  I certainly can, and it would NOT have been pretty!!

Have a great Tuesday!

Magnificent Beauty!!

I am soooo excited about this post!!  My husband called me outside this evening while watering our plants and said "grab your camera."   I knew it had to be good...or at least I was hoping it was good!

Oh, it was better than good - it was magnificent.   But what exactly was it?  This beautiful creature was near our deck just lying in the grass.  When I got close, it fluttered/flapped its wings together rapidly, but did not seem to be able to fly.

As I said, it was very near our deck and seemed to be trying to get underneath.  I did not want my presence cause this beautiful creature undue harm or stress.  However, I wanted more pictures!

Again, more fluttering/flapping around as I tried to capture a decent shot of its underside.

The wingspan was 4 to 5".  Again, it was trying to get underneath our deck.

I got it turned around using a stick - I was scared to touch it.  The markings were incredible - the pictures do not do it justice.

It appears as if a grass-blade pierced its wing.   At this point I decided to leave it alone and let nature take its own course.

I am so happy to report that a few minutes later my husband watched it fly away without any sign of distress.  Hooray!  I was so relieved and hope that many others get to catch a glimpse of this magnificent beauty!

And again, just exactly what was it - moth or butterfly?
