I really need a larger zoom lens, but this shot will have to do. This pretty little bird was hanging out in the middle of a field on Sunday. It was a beautiful blue-sky day without a cloud in sight and the temps were in the low 60s.
He/she seemed to be looking out over the field searching for something to eat. Suprisingly, the forecast is for snow late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. 1 inch of snow is nothing to my other blogging friends, but it is a big deal here in the South! However, I really am ready for warmer weather and more sun-filled days.
I hope you are all having a fabulous week! Be sure to visit here for more great Midweek Blues.

That is a gorgeous blue sky!
ReplyDeleteWe got an inch of snow today and barely saw the sky. :)
Carletta's Captures
We had a couple of inches last night and now forecast for another inch tomorrow night. Tired of the snow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue sky. For once, its not calling for snow for the next 5 days here in my neck of the woods. I am sooooo over winter...just holding on for spring!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having to put up with snow where it's rarely expected! It's bad enough to put up with it here in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest! Cute little bird....beautiful blue sky.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot! Sounds like a gorgeous day, too! I so miss 60 degrees, and am so ready for it to come back!!
ReplyDeleteYou do good with your bird. I suppose he is thinking, "Where did all the worms and bugs go?"
ReplyDeleteWe had a powder of snow last week. It might hit my blog. The cold came though, without snow. And we will get cold again tomorrow also. Further north might be snow and we COULD get some sleet.
..
i love your clear blue sky, and this little birdie enjoying the view.
ReplyDeleteMidweek Blues
beautiful! and that sky is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteNicely captured. Love the way the sun is highlighting his chest. I'm done with snow and hope we don't get anymore!
ReplyDeletePoor little critters must be having a hard time finding their meals this winter. We are supposed to get more ice this weekend. I would much rather have snow.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it might be a bluebird to me! :c) I know what you mean about the "s word." I am quite ready for it to be spring and could do without any more white stuff.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture! I couldn't help think of the title of the Goldie Hawn movie "Bird on a Wire", lol, I'm weird that way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Capture.. I have tried so many times to get a shot like this.. It alway ends up as a Silhouette.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
60’s? Lucky you! :)
ReplyDeleteThe wonderful cloudless sky made for a perfect backdrop for the little guy.
Bird on a wire chirping out its sweet code.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! I take it that no birds were injured in the shotting :o)
be happy and well,
Pam
That's a beautiful blue shot! We are in the deep freeze and have plenty of snow.
ReplyDeleteHa! Hello little bird, your right he does look like he's searching for something! Think warm thoughts!
ReplyDeleteIt may not feel like spring but the blue sky LOOKS like spring. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be waiting for your next post if the snow really did come:) But as for today you have a stark blue sky as background for your little bird!
ReplyDeleteYes ~ Get a zoom lens! You will love it.
ReplyDeleteActually, this photo brought back a precious memory. You know how birds are often lined up on the wire? A whole group of them? When I was a child, my mother would tell me that it was a birdie wedding, and we would try to figure out who the bird bride and groom were. So sweet ~ I used to do it with my sons when they were little.
love that flawless sky... lonesome birdie.. great shot.
ReplyDeleteMidweek Blues here
So lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really hope the snow passes us by this time around. :)
Awesome capture Kim....
ReplyDeletehe does appear to be surveying the scene
ReplyDeletebeautiful sky, beautiful photo
I love that clear blue sky, and the serenity of this shot!
ReplyDeleteNicely seen and captured!
I think sometimes it's nice not to use a big telephoto. You get the wildlife in habitat, and it shows more of the life I wish sometimes I could live! Like that gorgeous blue sky... wide open and free!!!
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
