This house is owned by my brother-in-law and is near 100 years old. It has electricity but no indoor plumbing. It is rented to a gentleman who lives there by himself. The main source of heat is the fireplace, but hopefully he has a second heat source as well.
The blue tarp on the porch caught my eye. It looks like the wood is rotten in spots. I also love the old bench car seat that serves as a place to sit and watch the world go by.
Be sure to visit The Dusty Cellar for other midweek "blues."
Happy Wednesday!

You did great with the high contrast processing. It’s very eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. Really love it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous picture with a great personal connection to you. We lived in Alabama for 9 years, and I still miss seeing some of these kinds of places dotting the rural landscape; we never felt quite right photographing them if we didn't know the inhabitants.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I like the colors and the high contrast.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo. I can't imagine living without indoor plumbing in this day and age, though!
ReplyDeleteI love that! Don't you know there would be some good sleeping with rain hitting that roof.
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that such a small house has two chimneys...maybe one for heat, the other for cooking?
ReplyDeleteYou find some of the neatest places!!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely love this, what a great roof and the bench is amazing, it looks so quaint but maybe not so in the middle of the night when you have to go outside!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a cool place. I'd like to take a few shots of it myself!
ReplyDeleteLove this . Wow. Very Nice
ReplyDeletewow, just beautiful! No indoor plumbing? Guess I won't be visiting :)

ReplyDeleteHow rustic this house is. I can only imagine living without indoor plumbing. Guess you could say I am a spoiled city girl! Great shot, very eye catching!
ReplyDeletelove it... and not sure what i would do without indoor plumbing...but i would survive... I grew up near Amish Families and many of them have no indoor plumbing.. seems to work...
ReplyDeleteLove this shot and that tin roof. My grandparents had one and I loved to sleep there when it rained.
ReplyDeleteYou find the coolest old houses, trucks, barns, etc to photograph. This looks so neat.
ReplyDeleteyou really made the colors pop!!
ReplyDeletegrand little house
I love it and your processing!
ReplyDeleteWonderful processing!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great photo!! Did you do HDR processing on this one? I love it!
ReplyDeleteI remember when my grandparents got indoor plumbing. I definitely would not want to go back to those days. Your photo certainly shows the character of this place.
