Thank you so very much for being so supportive of my rant/breakdown last night. Honestly ya'll - a gal can only take so much! I have only been blogging for a few months and now I really get it - we are friends and a support system for one another. I am so thankful for all of you!
I snapped this photo back in the summer. This dragonfly was particularly accommodating - probably because he/she could not see me!
I converted it to black and white and applied Kim Klassen's Celine texture. It is very fitting for this post - because you all have touched me and help provide the "wind beneath my wings!" I am lucky and blessed to have such wonderful blog friends, as well as the best family ever!
I am submitting this as a macro for Macro Friday as well.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
xoxo,
SouthernSass
This looks very cool.
ReplyDeleteWow, that almost looks like an illustration. Way cool edit! Glad you are feeling better. Sorry I missed the rant, I've been busy in my new assignment at work. Yeah, it's awesome to see how supportive fellow bloggers can be :-)

WOw! Great photo and editing.. This really is amazing! WEll done, and glad that you are feeling better. We all have our limits. That is why we are human and God is God!
ReplyDeleteThats lovely in sepia and the texture. I'm so glad that Amber is doing well after the op and I'm sorry to hear about the losses in your life due to cancer. We've got a family member that this week just went into the hospice for his last few weeks of life.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see the blog behind the artist. I actually met you through Flickr from the black and white group and I finally stumbled upon your blog from MF linky.
ReplyDeleteI love this--you did a wonderful job!
This is amazing! Your choice of color and texture...perfect.

ReplyDeleteWhat a tough week this has been for you, and I am so very sorry it's been that way. What wonderful news about Amber and her baby though! That had to have been beyond scary for everyone involved. Time for some rest and down time for you. Hugs.

Thank you everyone - ya'll are so sweet and good to me! Hugs and warm wishes right back at ya! I plan to rest and rejuvenate this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOMG! She ( I just know she is a she dragonfly) is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing her with us...
ReplyDeleteThis Gorgeous! It looks like a page in vintage science book!
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm going to have to figure out this processing and texture stuff because I want cool shots like yours!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome and one of my favorite textures!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this photo and the texture really is perfect! Bloggers are always there for one another, and I have been blessed innumerable times by my friends in cyberspace.
ReplyDeletevery cool! I looks like it's out of an old textbook!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo. Just read your previous posts and hope that things are going a bit better. My sympathy for your losses. I am not a native Southerner but we in New England also go cook up a storm and take care of the bereaved family so they can take care of the funeral and things. It is universal to care for others.
ReplyDeleteQUESTION: Is the top photo on your blog really your road to home?
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo, and roads to homes are all so different. In fact I think a whole interactive blog on "what is your road home like" would be a very interesting read. I will be back...
Very cool photo.
ReplyDeleteOh dang! Now I'm feeling bad that I wasn't around Wednesday evening to be any support. Good to know others were. Love that photo! Now I gotta peek back and see what I missed.
ReplyDeleteLisa - you are always there for me! You crack me up! :)
